West Central Foodservice was founded in 1969 by Chester Frangipani. Our Corporate headquarters are strategically situated in our 180,000 sq. ft distribution facility in Norwalk, CA to serve customers from Santa Barbara to the Mexican border. We also have large warehouse distribution centers in Arizona and Las Vegas. All of our facilities are custom-designed with temperature controlled units for a single purpose; to bring the best quality produce from the field to your table. We manage our fleet of 180 radio-controlled, refrigerated delivery trucks and operations with the latest in computerized communications to effectively merge modern technology with four generations of proven, hands on experience. The company tirelessly strives to maintain the perfect combination of its state-of-the-art distribution facility, global grower network relationships and education of employees to provide our customers with the utmost in personalized service.

Chester Frangipani, founder of West Central Produce, Inc., grew up on the East Coast. From an early age, Chet (as he is known to his family, friends, and work colleagues) displayed a huge appreciation for fresh produce. At the tender age of 8, he revealed a true entrepreneurial spirit when he began peddling fruits and vegetables door to door. In 1964, Chet moved west to the Southern California area and began working in a multitude of capacities in the produce industry he so loved. Around this time he purchased a mushroom farm, and through perseverance and old-fashioned hard work, he became the largest distributor of wild domestic mushrooms in the western United States. He parlayed this success as a grower into creating West Central Produce, Inc. in 1969. Presently in its forty-fifth year of operation, West Central Foodservice continues to be at the forefront of the Southern California food and produce distribution.
